Rundale Palace is the most markable monument of Baroque and Rococo in Latvia. It is created by the Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the designer of other famous buildings, such as the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg and the Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo.
Although Latvia is a small country, it is a great one! Do you know that Old Riga is often called "A small Paris"? So the Rundale Palace should be "The Baltic Versailles". And this is one more reason why you should definitely visit it!
After the reconstruction which started in 1972, the museum with crystal chandeliers, silk wallpapers and collection of paintings and frescos can be found in Rundale Palace.
By the way! The best time to visit Rundale Palace is summertime because of its wonderful park.
