Tour around romantic, emotional and stylish Riga museums and shops

During this tour you will explore some extraordinary museums settled right in the centre of Riga. Besides that you will have an opportunity to visit few charming souvenir shops that enchant their visitors with a mystery atmosphere, friendly staff and various local gifts.

The tour encircles the things that are usual for us in nowadays and values that have been  special for ages.  Childhood memories will reborn while visiting The Museums of Doll Art, meanwhile The Museum of Photography will remind you how important it is to memorialize the special moments of our lives.

Let’s start this tour with a Museum of Doll Art, where you can explore a wonderful collection of beautiful dolls and toys. The exhibition contains both antique dolls made in 1802 and toys that are popular in nowadays.

During this tour you will also visit the Museum of Amber, which is located in the very heart of Old Riga. Here you will have an opportunity to find out more about the secrets of this beautiful stone and buy some souvenirs. The little and quiet Museum of Photography will show you numerous photos made in Latvia by the times when making a photo was quiet exclusive and expensive. Within this tour you will be introduced with the history of Latvia Pharmacy as well. The Sun Museum will show you an interesting private collection of suns brought from almost all countries of the world.

In addition to museums’ visit, you will have a chance to shop around few tiny and interesting souvenir shops of Old Riga Town. Starting from a “Honey room” where one can taste a real Latvian honey and find out how it becomes, to an extraordinary souvenir shop called “Tejas Roze” (Tea Rose”). The lady-owner of this homey and nostalgic shop will not only offer you various local art works, but entertain you with interesting stories about things that can be found there.

We will end up this tour with a cup of tasteful coffee or hot chocolate and some wonderful pastries at a romantic café named “Amelie”, which is located on a narrow street of Old Town.
