Lidojosa Varde (The Flying Frog Cafe)
The cosy "Flying Frog Cafe" lies in the very centre of Riga. It is a favourite for locals because of its great cuisine and caring service.
When it is cold outside, you are welcome to have a hot drink near the fireplace or sit at the bar and chat with the friendly bartender. During hot summer days you can relax and hide from the sun in the shadowed pub garden. The atmosphere in "The Flying Frog Cafe" is solid, but a little bit Bohemian as well.

El Primero

Lido Recreation Center
The Lido Recreation centre is an interesting place to explore Latvian culture. In addition to European cuisine, traditional Latvian food is served by waiters dressed in folk costumes. Gallery Istaba
A unique and romantic place uniting an art shop and small gallery with cosy vintage style cafe. If you are looking for something Bohemian then this is the right place to be. Everything is quite simple. You won't be offered a menu, but it is possible to order directly from the chef, who will introduce you to the day's special.
If you are an adventurous person, then Istaba is perfect for you. But if you are habitual to classic service, another dining area would probably more suitable.

Melnie Muki (The Black Monks)
This restaurant got its name for being situated in the remnants of a cloister. The most favourable design feature of Melnie Muki is the red-brick walls covered by vaults. The distribution of tables is comfortable and allows you to dine more privately.
The staff is friendly and lively. After taking your seat you won't have to wait long to get the wide international menu, which includes Mexican, Italian and French cuisines. And of course traditional Latvian dishes are offered here too.

The cellar restaurant with wall decorations of various historical motives and wooden finish inspires traditional Latvian entertainment. Very often local band concerts or karaoke evenings are held here. More local atmosphere is created by famous Latvian movies shown on a wide screen TV. This is the best choice for those seeking for a great evening in a blues temper. The interior of this Club is obviously dedicated to a stage and numerous blues musicians which photos can be seen all over the Bite Blues Club.
Anyway blues is not the only thing that invites here. A well thought out and wide menu is offered in the Bite Blues Club Restaurant. Most popular here are steaks and grilled dishes, but you can also find some pasta or sea food in the menu.
We strongly recommend you to book a table if planning to visit Bite Blues Club on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. It's pretty crowded here by that time! Concerts of popular blues musicians make this place a local hit!

Austrumu Robeza
This Theatre - Restaurant club inspires a portion of ironic about communism and the totalitarian regime. It's everywhere, and the interior is decorated with numerous Soviet style features. The menu offers traditional Soviet dishes and the atmosphere created by busts of Hitler, Stalin, Lenin and Putin.

Vinu Studija (Wine Studio)
This is an excellent place to spend an unruffled evening enjoying a glass... or two... of great wine.
As expected from Wine Studio, there is a wide range of wines and champagnes offered in a cosy restaurant as well as in a tiny shop for take-away.
The menu is not as wide as in common restaurants, but it's quite good for snacks and desserts.
The staff is wonderful! Always ready to answer any question about wine culture and the wines offered here. After 5 minutes' of chatting you will feel like local and a frequent guest.
